Those are some awesome pics!

Did you take off your UIM and then decide to put it back on or something?

I saw that first pic with the engine hoist hooked up, and was wondering how the hell you were going to pull the motor with the hood still on. I guess you figured that one out

It's still a lot smaller than most piston engines though. It's really small if you really strip it bare.

Yeah we took it off, then realized it had to be on to hoist the engine out. The UIM has a place to hook the chain to.

The Red Flywheel is an SR Motorsports, ACT upgraded 9 LB wheel. The person that owned my car before me completely chunked the flywheel and ate the clutch. Pulling a motor is easy when you know that only half of it will be going back in (Single Turbo Conversion). Not only that but a standard R+R charge is about 1500.00, I figure that is half of my XS kit.

It also helps that i have very detailed instructions.

By the way lots of people complain about the hardest part of the project being taking off the power steering pump wheel. I don't understand mine came off very easy. See attached.

Two words for you: Impact Wrench

Yeah that sucker is almost impossible to remove without it.

I did not plan on keeping the powersteering pump pulley but I tried to remove it like a normal person. When that failed I resorted to the tap method, via hammer. After a very big cresent, a breaker bar about 4 feet long, and two big guys it finally broke loose. The only bolt I have experienced that was tighter was the flywheel bolt.

Yes I plan on puting a filter on, but I don't need to I just risk sucking in something that will cause it to go boom.

If anyone wants to take off the powersteering pulley remember it is plastic and will break. If you break it buy a complete set of pulleys its only money.
