I really dig red with white rims over red/black, but not ALL white rims look good. Black on black looks badass as well IMO.

one FD to rule them all

If you have a VR FD I'd say either go with white or chrome rims. Maybe, gunmetal grey rims might look ok, but dark black on red just doesnt do it for me.

Course, I might be a little jaded

There is a vr 7 in my town that had the bronze rims and i didnt like that, now he's got black rims but they look like a dirty black(not shiny) and neither one of then did it for me. I personally think black on shiny black is the way to go. it looks badasss. THats wut i plan on doing when i get my fd in a month or two

are those white powder-coated SSR integrals? I was thinking about doing the same thing, but in black (whole reason for starting this thread actually) eventually. I thought about white too, and I keep going back and forth about it. I'm thinking that white might draw the wrong kind of attention though.

I'm going to photoshop that pic to show those same rims in black (and probably gunmetal too) when I get back to my desk. wish me luck.

White looks nice on red and blue cars. For black cars I like Bronze, and for Silver cars I like Silver. What do you mean by the wrong kind of attention? I am still debating form mine though. Black R1-Silver or Bronze. I can't decide. I like the stock look but I also think Bronze looks so nice. I used to like the Volk TE37's in Bronze but they look odd on a FD for some reason. To bulky I think.

Wrong Kind of attention = cops

Not only does the Red Draw them in, but the contrast of white wheels makes it stand out even more. Which is both a good and a bad thing.

Batman said I should Powder Coat my wheels Yellow and call it "THE FLASH"... JackBall... (much love alain)

Ya they are 18" SSR Interals. I like the clean simple design of the SSR's. Never had a problem with the cops, but yes the car does get stares.

Also painting your brake calipers is a must with wheels like these.

I have a close up shot of my rims...I will attatch it in another message.

Good luck with the Photoshop...I'm interested in how it will look.

They'll pull you over anyways. they always do. I outran them once in my Eclipse when we were watching Streetracing. I have never had them follow me before but it must have been my lucky night. My friend was racing at the time and then the cops showed up so everyone ran and I met up with my friend that was about to race and ten the cop came in right behind us and I figured my friend was fucked since the cop must have saw him lined up so I ran again and to my suprise the cop followed. It was not my home town and I didn't know how they would react to racing so I just flat footed it and left his ***. He cought up about 3 minutes later when I had decided to stop breaking the law and drive the speed limit and then *BAM* right on my ***. I was scared to death. His first words were " Are you ******* STUPID?" I was like, Oh ****! He let us go though thank GOD. I had Silver rims on my GSX so it really doesn't matter what color your wheels are. It's just your night some nights.

The red Vipers with yellow rims tend to get referred to as "McVipers" "Mc7" perhaps?

I have a red '93 with black rims and silver lip. Don't have a digital cam or scanner but I'll see if someone I know can help me get a picture to you. I'll post a pic or two soon if all goes well.

IMO, The only good looking color for wheels on a VR RX7 is silver. Anything else takes away from the shien of the Factory VR. Black makes the car look dull. I think Bronze rims on a VR is a Maybe it's just me though. =) I LOVE black with bronze or white with gunmetal. As far as VR goes, stick with silver.

post some pictures of other wheels on black car

what y'all think about white wheels (*rims) on black car?

and as long as we're talking colored wheels, how about different combinations with brake caliper colors. mine are silver right now.....i WAS going to make them yellow, but i thought that would be too much. started leaning toward red, but then just decided to repaint in silver...

i can always redo it though.....heh

Anyone know which lip spoiler that is on unixpilot's car? It looks like the 99 Spec, but I can't really see it.

Thanks. Looks real good man. Did they sand the lip down before painting it, and what kind of paint did they use?
