Has anyone seen a phone mount conversion for replacing the center speaker? Searches in the forum and google yield nothing, but it seems like a practical conversion.

 

Seems like a good idea as long as it's designed in good taste. Following for more.

 

IMO, the center speaker is too far away from the driver to be a good, usable location to place a smart phone.

 

Now that you said that I went and sat in mine and i have to agree with you. I mean it could be a deterrent for using your phone while driving and just using it for navigation. But yes, totally far away.

 

I didn't put a phone mount there, but I did 3d print up a bracket for the center speaker frame and mount the mic for handsfree from my headunit there. You would never know under the stock speaker grill and it works well.
