PFC Negative Air Temp.....WTF
So I have been noticing some irregularities in my air temp readings as of late.
They occasionally like to hang out in the negatives(as low as -15 C), which has been causing some vacuum issues.
I first noticed when I was not pulling as much vacuum as normal and then I glanced at my temp reading....... I'm aware that it's physically impossible for my IC to work this well, but I'm sort of at a loss.
The sensor itself is newer.
I'm starting to think I might have some fubared wiring at the connector.
any other ideas before I pull my UIM back off?
thanks

this only happens 1/4 of the time I drive the car, but the difference is noticeable

Ive had that problem witih my wolf. faulty connections to the temp sensor make the ems think its seeing a very high resitance aka extremly cold. i bet its wiring.

hehe, thats funny mine has hiccups every once in a while...i've seen the temps dip to the -3 or around there for a few seconds and just come back up to normal.
I havent gotten around to it(as stated above, not really concerned with it - engine is blown anyways! lol) but just put a multimeter on the sensor verify operation(check the fsm). As for the wiring, I suggest you unplug the battery and ECU harness and then check for continuity(again, check the fsm for the correct pins).
I hope its the sensor since a harness will be way more. And cutting/splicing the harness will be a pia.
Good luck to us all!
