Simplest thing to do is to get a Mazda aftermarket stereo harness. They sell them at Canadian Tire for about $10. This plugs in directly to the car harness and will resolve the colour coding issues for you - the Canadian Tire harness translates to the standard that pretty much all aftermarket stereos use now. The only thing you have to worry about is the power on lead for the amps - use the aftermarket stereo's antenna power lead for that.

Really, it's not that difficult - loads of people here have done the same as you and there's plenty of threads on it. Search, read and learn... it might take you a couple of days but it's totally doable. Your key is to buy that harness from crappy tire.

Using a wiring specific harness is your best bet. If your putting in a high wattage after market head unit to replace the bose you will need the scoshe adapter or your speakers won't last long. Crutichfield is a big help when it comes to the adapter and wiring.
