pettit or hks downpipe?

Hey guys I ordered a hks downpipe and being the idiot I am didn't care to check to see if one was already on. The previous owner didnt mention anything so i assumed there wasnt., and just found out that there is alrdy a pettit downpipe bolted on. Should I sell the used pettit and keep the hks or should I try to sell the hks and keep the pettit? which is better for performance and reliabilty?

I have the pettit on my car.

I love it in any other way. I'm sure HKS would give the same result.

See if they will let you return the hKS? Because it wouldn't make a big of a difference. Pettit is just the same as HKS and HKS is just the same when it comes to performance and reliabilty.

The Pettit is a quality unit, I have one and love it. I certainly wouldn't go to the trouble of swapping downpipes! Just return or sell the HKS unit, is my advice.

namebrand DP's are all of equivalent quality for the most part. save yourself some trouble and keep the Pettit. on a side note, I have the pettit and have no problems with it.
Also, you'll get more money by selling a brand new DP than one that is already used .

Isn't the pettit dp made from stainless steel and the HKS dp made from mild steel?

Yes, and the HKS also has a 2-1/2" diameter at the crimp, ie, not 3" all the way through. While I wouldn't worry about the crimp so much, I would much prefer to have a SS downpipe.

Why don't call the place where you ordered it and tell them your situation. Say to them that you want to return it but are willing to buy other stuff. WE always need other stuff (cat-back, intake, ECu, blah, blah). Hopefully, they won't charge you a re-stocking fee.

The HKS downpipe was designed for RHD (Right-Hand Driver) models, and that's why it has that strangely-shaped and slightly more restrictive neck. Stick with the Pettit. It's a better product (for LHD) AND it's already on your car.
