pettit ecu questions

ok i heard that the pettit ecu doesnt care what bolt ons ur have and it will tune itself to ur mods.
mods as in just the simply stuff like mp,dp,cb,FMIC, streetport, and stock twins. stuff like that.

im planning to get a pettit ecu so im just wondering if i need to know what mods the previous owner was using? or is it just plug and play type thingy.

not planning to run over 14.7 psi so i dont need the unlimited chip right?

thanks

yes, pettit ecus are very high demand in the market. I used to have a pettit unlimited ecu and i was running it with:

single turbo setup
mp
catback
fmic
high flow fuel pump
1200cc
14psi

and i had no problem at all!!!!!

one of my friend have the same setup as me now and he's running the Pettit unlimited ecu as well. he is selling it right now cause he's going with the haltech e6k, so if you are interested in it he is selling it for $350 shipped. PM me if you are interested.

stevecod,

Did I read that right? You ran larger injectors with the Pettit ECU?

How did the car run?

I've read so many posts about Pettit and M2 ECU's not mixing with larger secondaries...

I also have the question about this pettit tuned Ecu. I don't know if you guys have answered this, but if i get that ecu from someone else that had it on his car and it was tuned for Dp, Mp, CB, Intake, IC , Do i need to have all those setups? Since i'm runing mostly stock now, and i don't have most of that stuff, will the ecu just accept the stuff that i have now or is it gonna run rich cause i don't have the stuff it was tuned for? Can someone please explain this to me Thanks.

only thing i could see a problem with is the Mp allowing Boost Creep... i also run the pettit ecu, i just have catback, intake, pulleys and the ecu itself and it runs incredibly rich but i plan on going single turbo pretty darn soon.

If the ecu is made for more mods then you have, it will just run rich and vice versa.

I previous had the non-unlimited Pettit ecu but switched to Unlimited as soon as I did the mp just to be safe. The chips are only $50 and takes about 10 minutes to install.

Give Pettit a call, they will answer your questions honestly.

the Pettit Unlimited ECU will handle all of the mods you can do or bolt on short of a single turbo. but i woudlt advise running larger injectors without being able to tune with a fuel controller, as the ECU will have no way of knowing you installed larger injectors, thus you will run extremely rich.

but for the price of a Pettit ECU upgrade and additional fuel controller, might as well go with a PFC....

only the unlimited will handle all of the mods? i thought the unlimited is only if u wanna run higher boost.

It really doesn't depend on the mods, it depends on the boost level. The limited Pettit chip supports up to 14 PSI. If you don't have the extra mods, you'll just run a little rich.

The unlimited chip supports higher levels (BTW, I thought I heard they stopped offering the unlimited chip), but I don't know how far, just call Pettit. They'll answer all your questions.
