hi ..i just purchased a pettit ecu from someone...is there anything distinct about the petti from a stock ecu physicaly. just want to make sure i didnt get burned. it doesnt have the pettit sticker like i have been seeing on other ecus..all it has a writting on the top saying unlim.pettit ecu and a date 1/11/1993

well i just got screwed....sucks for him because i am an oakland cop and had his cell number traced to his home in salinas,his name,and the name of the college he goes to in san fransisco..i called him and told him the whole scenario..and still has not called me back ..so if i have to i will go down to his house and eitheir talk to his parents or him if he is there. i even got the last 2 years of craigslist activity on him...when will these scammers learn....

I really hope you get the guy for this if he scamed you. On a side not, how do you plan on getting the vehicle to pass an emissions inspection if you modify the vehicle to take full advantage of that ecu? I know you cops are resourcefull as I was in law enforcement many years ago.

 

yes i did open the ecu and there was no chip mod. I paid 1000.00 for the ecu,pullies,intake,downpipe,and straight pipe. And on emissions..i will just revert back to stock when the time comes.I just bought the car for a hobby and always wanted an fd to work on. And just an update ..he has not called so me and a fellow officer have contacted salinas p.d. for jurisdiction purposes. I am still looking for an ecu if anyone on this board is in the bay area and has one for sale. It is kinda my fault for not doing the proper research on the ecu but i guess live and learn. I am new to the rotory scence. Dont ...i repeat dont buy from craigslist unless you know the individual has good intentions.

 

I suggest you get a PowerFC this time.
