I edited my post - Pettit uses a MotoRad lever cap; it's Mazdatrix that uses a Stent STA10329. Sorry, I don't know the Pettit/MotoRad part #.

The Pettit AST is flimsy. The top will warp. Once that happens, no cap will seal it.

The neck on the Pettit AST Is stamped aluminum.

Mine just straight up wore out and the cap would not seal.

I cut it off and welded a billet neck on.

So If yours is not sealing I'd recommend inspecting the neck.

did a search for "pettit ast cap model" and the very first link gave me this... https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...st-cap-472381/

which then gave me these

TVI / STANT
PART # DESCRIPTION MOTORAD GATES ROBERTSHAW

TVI 10329 RAD CAP ST-13 31511 RSP-29
If you want the one with a Pressure release its #11329

so now instead of 12 hours, you could have had your answer instantly by hitting search instead of new thread.

It is a motorad cap. What if I use a 16 psi cap?

In the beginning this is what Mazda used but had to recall them because they were causing coolant leaks and fires in the bay, stick with what is known to work and use google and the search function on this site. There is tons of easy to find information spanning over the many many years.
