performance question related to adding a downpipe

Ok so I finally managed to get a downpipe and im going to try and install it this weekend.I just have a few questions regarding this modification.
I have a intake and catback already.Stock twins.
Will my boost lag increase or decreasse once I put the downpipe on? I also picked up a bosch universal o2 sensor since im going to be replacing the precat.
The one thing I dont want is to increasse lag.Its bad enough already on the auto fd.Thanx for the quick help.

no one knows the answer to this?
I think it was supposed to reduce lag and spool up time but I want a definite answer.

The general concensus is that adding a downpipe will REDUCE lag. Your turbo should spool up more quickly.

However, since you've already got intake and exhaust, you might raise the boost level enough to cause trouble. Be careful,.

thank you scotty for the reply.Yeah I am a bit timid on this as well. But since I have a boost leak somewehre The car doesnt go past 10 psi .Well except if I try to stomp on it in third gear. Then its spikes but Im also looking at getting a profec b to remedy all of this.
Im also a mile high from sea level and there a bunch of fd's up here running an intake catback and downpipe with minimal spiking.
I think if we lived at sea level it would be a different story though.

A downpipe should reduce your turbo lag. I would get that boost leak fixed ASAP. Your turbos are working extra hard to make 10psi, which means extra wear and heat. They already have to work harder than normal due to your elevation, the boost leak just makes it much worse. This is not good for your turbos and the air that they are pushing will be extra hot as well, which can lead to trouble. Even though you should be safe at 10 psi, you may not be if the air is too hot (and we all know the limitations of the stock intercooler).

well.I seem to have had some succes. So far so good.Hopefully it lasts. But I think I was right about that one bolt. The car now pulls much harder once the second turbo comes online. Also lag has improved as well. The car seems to spike quite a bit now as well.Almost to 15 psi.Not good at all.Im going to wait on the downpipe and order me a greddy profec b.Got to play it safe.
