perfect boost pattern - so ahhhh - WTF?!
Ok, first off my boost pattern is a perfect no-pill and no-control 7psi - dip - 7psi.
The problem is, despite the 7psi showing on the boost gauge it just feels laboured and slow - bucking occasionally and even backfiring under full loads.
when i pull up to the lights, the vaccum on the gauge doesn't seem as low as before - but it fluctuates (sometimes the vacuum and boost pull is fine, other times it is crap).
now, i know FOR SURE that i have a grounding problem (sometimes to start the car i have to put water on the grounding strap on the engine to firewall to complete the connection and start the car! Could this be the problem? i'm planning to hardwire that soon (it melted the plastic connector!).
otherwise, what is giving me my perfect pattern and shitty performance?!

Well, I think you know what to do first - fix the ground problems. They can cause a variety of performance troubles, and you said yourself that the grounds are bad. If that doesn't fix most of it, then look at other stuff.

Yeah dude. Youre running rich and your ignition isnt at full capacity. Its gonna be...lazy. Water does not conduct electricity. A saline solution would. Pouring water on an electrical connection is THE WORST IDEA EVER. Not simply because water + electricity = frizzy hair but more because electricity + water = corrosion thus furthering your grounding problems. Especially tap water.

Barban, thats a top point - didn't consider corrosion!
I've been putting water on it with ignition off - then firing it up - you gotta think that is one of THE WORST grounds ever when you have to do that to even start it.
