Passenger window won't go up

Any help is much appreciated: Just bought my first RX-7...Passenger side window switch only works when putting window down, can only put up window from driver's side switch.

What do you think needs to be fixed? My first guess is to just change the passenger side window switch.

TIA

It's probably the switch itself. It could decide to start working again. I friend's RX-7 had the same problem. He never tried to fix it, and then one day it started working again and has worked ever since. Go figure.

Same thing happened on mine. No need to take the whole door off though. You can get to the switch by using a small flat head screwdriver and carefully pop out the switch. Careful not to scratch the plastic. I was lucky enough to wiggle the wires to get the switch to work again. Might have to look at it again in the future though, but that’s the least of my worries right now for I'm in the middle of an engine build.

Check out DaleClark's website. He has step-by-step instructions on how to clean it. Mine does it even after I cleaned it so I I know I have a bad switch. It only goes down and not up.

Good luck...

My driver door switch did the same, but when I opened it up, I found out that the plastic lever connecting the switch was warped from age I assume. The window will go up and down from the pushing in the springs on either side, yet it looks horrible without the plastic there, but not worth $90 for a replacement.

ive alway tried this on the MPV. its worst in the winter but its usually fine after i clean the internals of the switch. you can try pushing it down and pulling it up over and over again. but you might wear it done. lol i dont know bud. if it still doesnt work after you clean it just replace the damn thing lol.
