Ray at Malloy and I have spent the last week trying to find the part number for the heat shield that bolts to the passenger side motor mount. Neither of us has been able to locate it in the parts sheets. If anyone knows the part number your help would be appreciated.

This is a semi-guess... but part # N3A1-13-3801 looks like the heat shield you want (1E-4 in the '93 parts cache). I'm just going by the pic and how I remember the heat shield. I can check it out when I get home for sure.

BTW, I have an extra one if you need just one.

 

Check sheet number 1-F4, d-code 13-3801 #2. I think that's the one. PN N3A2-13-C80C

I think we are looking at the same piece. It is listed as 13-3801 # 1 in my sheet. PN N3A2-13-C80C

 

On my 94 list, 13-3801 #1 is the lower turbo heat shield that covers the wg/pc actuator rods.

13-3801 #2 is the one that sits separate and looks like the mount heat shield.

 

 

Hmm, that's odd they switched up the d-code and still use the same part number.

Anyway, I think the thread is nearing a conclusion.

 

Make sure you are looking at the right No. 1 and you aren't getting N3A1 and N3A2 mixed up. I think you might have.

 

In the 94 parts fiche it looks a little different.

 

I looked at that same parts detail a few times, the strange thing is that where they placed this shield is nowhere near it's true location. This is also a bad drawing of it considering it is not rectangular and does not have the tab off the top. One of the confusion factors is that the motor mount detail does not show any shields at all.

 

I suspect the turbocharger guys are the ones who determined a heat shield was necessary.

While it's not easy to find, it is fairly close within the engine bay.
