Part identification

Hi guys, What is this part called and what does it do?
Located next to the igniter.

In the parts manuals it's referred to as the condenser. But basically, it's a resistor.

It's used for proper operation of the tachometer.

It's possibly for RF noise suppression. Mine is missing, and i dont plan to replace it.

it is a condenser, it is meant to damp any RF or voltage spikes

IIRC the main purpose of that part is to suppress RF noise that would be transmitted through the radio.

Then its totaly useless to me.. Who needs radio when u got a halfbridge with titaniumexhaust

I wouldn't throw it away until you're positive you don't need it.

I posted that is was for tach signal because I found a thread about this same thing and Banzai Racing said it was for that.

Sooooo, who knows? Trail and error.

"Condenser" = capacitor, not resistor.

kind of interesting that either a capacitor, or a resistor for that matter, would only have 1 wire going to it.

Unless it's providing whatever capacity it is being used, to ground.

^ The tab that secures it to the chassis is the ground.
