It originated in the MKIV Supra community, and it is "basic".

It means boost cut controller, VSV bypass line, downpipe, and cat-back. The RX-7 has no real equivalent, because you can't run 17+ psi without a number of other more expensive modifications.

I was aware of it's origins and it is most commonly considered "basic." I have heard it referred to as "bolt-on" also (from a supra owner that I know), but I'll just leave it at that since you have owned a supra and I haven't.

thank you, that is what I was looking for. I will get the profec B boost controller. Now should I get 1300's or 1600's. I do remember seeing something about a resistor and the kit but didn't inquire about it. If that is true, do I need the same thing for the 1300's.

A lot of people say there isn't a need to run resistors with 1600's with the PFC. (Including Ralph from Groundzero/Xcessive and Dave@KDR)
While others argue that the injector drivers will be or could be fried using injectors of different impedance. Keith@KG parts can supply you with a resistor if needed or you could pick them up at your local Radio Shack™.

As far as the size of the injectors are concerned you have to ask yourself how far you plan on pushing the car not only now, but your goals for the future as well.
Do you plan on big ports and a single turbo some time down the road? Or would you rather be conservative and stick with the twins?
Also remember that 1300's are bored out stock secondaries and while I ran a set for years without a single problem, lots of people on this board and some of the "experts" state that the stock injectors when bored out that large are prone to failure that could lead to a blown motor.

1300 Injectors
Pros: Drop In (No need for upgraded rail or resistors)
Cheaper
Some would say easier to tune for and slightly more power due to better spray pattern and atomization.

Cons: Limited power wise
Thought to have higher failure rate due to increased size and based off used injectors.

1600 Injectors
Pros: Enough fuel for even the most power hungry folks with the exception of people who are clearly crazy.
The injectors themselves are more easily sourced and are cheaper than bored out or stock injectors

Cons: Requires removing injector diffusers and o-ring along with use of an after market rail which may require removal of emissions systems.
Initially more expensive due to the extra required parts.

I would figure out your goals for the car, find out how much you want to spend and talk to your tuner to see what they recommend.

Don't rely on the PFC for boost control. The other FD owner in my city, James, counted on his pfc controlling boost running 14 psi, got boost creep and detonated hard, and blew his motor. Kinda sucked b/c his FD only has 45K miles and he has to replace the motor. At the least, buy a manual boost control, the ball and spring ones work pretty well if I remember correctly, plus they're inexpensive. I'd just go with the 1300cc sec's. Maybe think about running some larger primaries also and going with a better fuel pump.

You deffenitly need to search the site better to get an all around idea. I think it is overkill at this time, but on the same hand i say go with it. Just make sure to tune your car right away and look into a power FC or something to controle your injectors. Remember that you can only run like 14psi on the stock ignition system. I know you have upgraded the plugs and wires but look also at an amplifier like the HKS twin power or something.

1600cc injectors or manley for those who are looking at 15psi and up race gas needed for 17psi and up. Hope that helps
