over heating out over flow!?

hey guys my buddy has a 1997 fd the rebuilt engine has done 6000ks in 3 years he hardly drives this car because of this problem. ok so the engine never over heats while idling after a few minutes of driving the temp will get really hot so after pulling over the coolant would spray out the over flow. about a year ago (before i new of this site) :S i put in new thermostat, big alloy radiator, new hoses and over flow bottle in for him and a electric fan, this made no difference what so ever. the only other thing i can think off is the belt not spinning the water pump but it is spinning. do you think it is a water seal blown and it is pressurising the coolant system?

Let the car cool completely stone cold. Take the cap off the filler neck and start the engine up. We call this the champagne test. If you see bubbles, your coolant seals are shot...

Have the cooling system pressure tested.

Coolant blowing out the overflow tank is a symptom of a bad coolant seal. Does the overflow tank dipstick also have gooey tar-like substance on it?

Definitely do the champagne test as mono4lamar mentioned. When mine went bad it would start bubbling at about 80C.
