Wow... Didn't realize it was that high... They really got serious from the 2nd gen to the 3rd...

As you can probably tell, I don't know all that much about the RX7s. But about to... =) Looking at a Red '94. *fingers crossed*
Gonna have to cancel the basic cable to afford it, but hey, can't say no to something so beautiful.

More than likely, you'll have to cancel more than cable, if you buy it used. A tight budget would have to take into account the expense these thing ellicit with boost problems, overheating, and the damn seals (apex, coolant, etc)

What can I expect to be average maintanence costs? Not to freak you guys out, but I'm not necessarily interested in peak performance 24/7. I'm not going to be racing it or anything.

And although I was planning on cancelling it anyways to help absorb the cost, I exagerate a bit with the cable thing. If it hurts me too bad, I will sell my paid for 2001 T Tundra.

Well my 1993 Competition Yellow Mica R-1 had a sticker price of $32,720, whether they went up that much in 94 I have no idea but I pulled my price right off my original window sticker.

93VR Touring:$35,357 was the sticker price, but before I bought it I read an article in the Wall Street Journal that said sales of the 3rd gen were really slow because of the high pricing and that they had them stacked up on a boat waiting to come ashore with no dealers accepting more than 1 or 2 at a time. Plus everyone was totally crazed about SUV's then. (I STILL hate them..........)

The sales manager at the dealership told me I was full of **** until I brought him a photocopy of the article.
I negotiated for 10 days with the ******** at the dealership but finally got my way. He finally admitted he had lots of looky loos but not one offer.

Car Dealer = Larceny in the heart.

I've enjoyed every minute of ownership, even with all the wrenching. It still kicks *** in a sea of mediocracy and mundane 4 wheeled cages.

I paid $32,000 plus luxury tax and sales tax. Knowledge is power.
