Opinions Wanted on Blitz NUR Spec Catback

Does anybody have any experience with this exhaust system? I read very favorable reviews on the NUR Spec R, which is a two piece catback with removeable silencer, but I haven't read anything about the NUR Spec. What is the sound like? It's on sale for $363 at import-nation: http://www.300zxstore.com/blitnurspece.html
Decent exhaust systems don't get much cheaper than that.

The one I saw at a shop looked like a piece of crap... the tubing wasn't even welded smoothly inside.

From what I've heard, it's made well, fits well, but is definitely one of the louder systems out there. I'd also look into the HKS Hiper - it's a similar price.

its definantly louder then a greddy/trust 3-3.5" catback (straight thru type) yet a little bit quieter then a straight thru 4" exhaust system even though it has an inlet which is smaller then 3", the outlet is much larger then 3" though. from what i have seen it seems made fairly well and is nice a shiny. its hard to describe how it sounds much less any other exhuast system to tell you the truth. the only way is to buy it or find someone near you which has it. its a fairly common exhuast system and is cheap which im assuming is the most important feature to you. the one i have heard did not come with the optional silencer.

I had a Blitz Nur Spec without the silencer on my car for about 1000 miles, and I hated the sound. It was loud at idle, and REDICULOUSLY loud at part and full throttle...

I still think it is a good looking system, and was reasonably well constructed.. It was entirely made of s.s., so it was exceptionally light.. but after that rediculous droning, i sold it and went back to the[IMHO] best sounding exhaust for the FD: the Greddy SP.

I've got one, I had it on the car for several thousand miles with otherwise stock exhaust, and it sounded great, not that loud at all, imho. Now I've got a downpipe with it, and its louder, but not so much so that it really bothers me, and it sounds burly, really, really burly. Its not a miserable droning noise imo, it doesn't sound like a Ferrari, but it could be worse. I've got low quality video clip of it shot with a digital still camera, it doesn't do the exhaust justice, but I can send it to you. Build quality on the exhaust is high, all stainless, much lighter then stock, good welds, great fitment, much higher quality the then the Apex'i systems I've seen. For the performance, sound and price, I would definitely suggest it to anyone. If you want the clip, let me know via pm, otherwise, I might not get the message in a timely manner. Josh

In all fairness to the Blitz, I did have a downpipe and non-resonated midpipe on at the time, which certainly makes for a loud car regardless of what cat-back is on.. with that being said, the Blitz was still just too loud for me..

Thanks for the feedback guys. The consensus here seems to be that it's fairly loud, which is something I would like to avoid. Based on that, I will probably steer clear of the Blitz. dcfc3s and SRA-FD3S, are you guys recommending the Hiper just because it's cheap, or is it because it's similar but higher quality, or is it quieter? I'm not really that fixated on saving money. I suppose that I would like to keep the cost in the neighborhood of $500 or below. Based on that, and an aversion to ridiculously loud exhaust setups, what would you guys recommend?

edit: I won't rule it out entirely until I hear talljosh's clip though. I guess I'll PM him.

I have it on my car and even with a downpipe I wouldn't say it's that loud, even though it may be louder then others out there. I'm still happy with it though

If quiet is what you are looking for, go for
1. Greddy SP
2. RSR exmag (looks like rb's exhaust)
3. RB cat back.

I personally own the SP with a Trust resonated midpipe and love it........ Immensely haha
Hope that helps some.
These 3 are the quietest exhaust that I know of...

what i experienced is, as long as you have the main cat. on, the noise level is throatier. But, if no cat.,noise level is higher pitched.
