Opinions on my plugs? (PIC)

L1 T1 L2 T2

First time changing them since I have owned the car (1500~ Miles)

What do you guys think? Nick at RR&R said its fairly normal plug wear, but the T2 looks like it may be a bit burnt? I changed the fuel filter and plugs today, as well as put synth fluid in the trans.

Any suggestions or do they look pretty normal?

TIA,

Richard

A white color on your plugs usually indicates you are running lean. I believe that it is normal to have a little bit of white on the trailing plugs, but I'm not too sure about that much. Is the car modded? Any fuel upgrades?

It has a midpipe, K&N drop in, and Blitz BOV, no other mods. Not doing any performance mods til I get either the AEM or Power FC and fuel pump. Theres 22k on a Rotary Power rebuild

Thanks guys (and gals)

L1 (far left in picture) appears to show some signs of melting. This could mean you are/have experienced some preignition/detonation. If it were me, I'd be a little concerned and get some more advice on what caused this plug to melt.

You're running a midpipe but you're not doing any PERFORMANCE mods till you get an ecu and fuel pump? Why run a midpipe with the stock pre-cat and cat-back? Do you know what your boost levels are?

Not to sound harsh, but there is no way you should be running a midpipe without a boost gauge.

Clean looking FD BTW.

The car came with a midpipe on it from the previous owner, said he replaced it to remove a clogged pre-cat. boost levels are steady, when I hooked up the boost gauge to test they were 12-9-11 and then it tapers down a little. I think the turbos are going. It looked pretty stable, No spikes or anything, no creeping (can you boost creep DOWN heh?). Since the initial boost test seemed high I have been putting in 3 or 4 gallons of 103 w/ each tank, and just got the fuel filter changed

I am ordering the fuel pump today, and can get a G-force/technosquare upgrade , but I was hoping to just go with the AEM in a few weeks (?) and solve it all at once..

Either get rid of that MP or get an ECU, cuase your liable to blow your motor runnin lean at those boost settings. The Pre-Cat is the DOWNPIPE, NOT the mid pipe. The previous owner was wrong with that replacement. at the boost levels your getting, are already expereinceing boost spikes and creep, cuase the stock levels are 10-8-10. If you must drive the car around, DONT BOOST, all you need right now is a pound of too much boost and your toast.HTH

OK put the car up on the lift today, because I was confused. The previous owner used the wrong terminology, the car has the Pre-Cat replaced ( pipe right off the turbos - Front pipe?), but the main cat/centersection is intact, as is the factory catback. SO I used the term midpipe incorrectly. To re-iterate, it has a front pipe and a K&N drop in, but now it does seem like boost is a little high considering everything factory that is in place. AEM still has no delivery date on the "phantom ECU" so it looks like its time for a G-force upgrade.
