Opinions on Best Overall Radiator

I have recently received a Koyo radiator for my 1994 RX7. I have not yet installed it for the fact that some minor modifications have to be performed to the car, which I do not want to do. I am debating on whether or not to send the unit back and purchase the Mazda Comp, Fluidyne or one of the other units. Do you all think the cooling is the same for all of these? I hear about people having more heat soak with aftermarket radiators and am unsure what this is caused by. Since it is usually Koyo vs. Fluidyne, would you take the Mazda Comp unit over both of those? Anyone heard anything bad about any of these? Quite a few people I have talked to about the situation recommend the Koyo even though some modifications have to be performed. All opinions welcomed. Thanks.

This is a common big debate item. Personally, when my stock radiator gets a few more miles on her, I'm getting the Fluidyne. I seriously doubt that the Koyo cools much better and it does require a little fitment. If you have an aftermarket SMIC, it may interfere with that. Also, it can push a cold-air intake (M2, rx7 fashion) too far up against the hood. I say return it for the Fluidyne.

I have the Fluidyne, but if you already have the Koyo, its not that difficult to make it fit. If you find a shop that has installed one in an FD before they should be able to do it no problem. As far as between Fluidyne and MS, the Fluidyne is better because it doesn't use epoxy to hold it together and the MS does, I've heard of one case where the epoxy split on the MS version. Aside from that, cooling wise they are basically the same. I'm not sure where you got the heat soak idea from, the larger radiators can absorb more heat but I can't imagine it making much of a difference. Remember their cooling ability is because they have more surface area, whereas heatsoak is determined by mass, and these radiators aren't that much more massive. Either way its tough to lose.

So overall, the Fluidyne peice is a good quality radiator? I think I might go for the Fluidyne then. I don't want to chop or bend anything whatsoever.

The difference in size of the Koyo vs. the Fluidyne won't make a huge difference in cooling. It's all about airflow. The Fluidyne is entirely aluminum and is the brand that race cars like NASCAR use, so it's decent.

Arrow Theres 2 more

M2 has a nice one which I tried to order but the response was too slow , so I ordered the Fluidyne which is on backorder, uhg.

I really wanted to stick with one vender and I have M2 parts installed, but I can't wait...mine is bad allready.

Oh, btw: I bought a bottle of stop leak and it's bought me some time.

SR Motorsports also has a nice one. The Mazda comp was too steep for my budget.

I installed the Koyo. It was not that big of a deal. I posted a bunch of pictures and description. My car runs about 6-8C cooler. It does heat up more after shutoff but I have not figured that out yet.

This server sucks!
