Oneway valve is it bad????
Oneway valve is it bad????
I am doing the hose job and found a oneway that comes off the turbo section. (see Pic) It isnt passing air hardly at all in the direction the arrow points. could it be plugged and if so can you identify it?
Thanks
Thanks
yeah that one comes off the pressure tank, you have to check it simply by blowing through it. If it goes one way but not the other your set, however if it goes both ways...well it's busted. What you can do is, if you need a new one (wouldn't be a bad idea to change it anyways while your in there) then you can get one from a corvette, they are about the same size and work awesome. The new ones from mazda run about $27, the corvette one is $9...

However, due to the high temps of our engines, I would suggest against the Autozone brand check valves. I would recommend at least going OEM or some stronger aftermarket valves.
I don't know if anyone has done any tests on all the check valves but I assumed they were designed to open at specific pressures (hence why they are all pretty much different).
Mazda has them all color coded. I replaced that one because it thought it was the culprit in my low secondary boost, since it is its job to operate the TCA (right?) But each one has a different part number so i assume like Mahjik said, that the open at different pressures.
