One rotor isn't turning over...don't know why.

Hey guys, so the other day I started my car and it started fine. I let it warm up for a few minutes before I drove off since it was cold out. By the time I got to the end of my street it sounded as if the motor started to run on only one rotor. My initial thought was that maybe something was wrong with the ignition system so I decided to check the spark plugs. Sure enough, the plugs were bad so I replaced them with new ones. When I went to start the car again, it still sounded like only one rotor was turning over. I tested the new plugs to make sure they were sparking and sure enough, they were.

Since everything in the ignition system seemed fine, I figured maybe the rotor wasn't getting fuel, but I just tested the resistance on the injectors and everything seems to be working fine. I'm stumped guys, any suggestions??

Also, I'm running a PT67 single turbo setup with 550cc primaries/1600cc secondaries and all the other supporting mods.

Correct me if I'm wrong but there is a shaft called an eccentric shaft that connects your two spinning doritos. So unless your eccentric shaft snapped in half I don't see why only 1 rotor would be "turning" :P

If it feels like its running on 1 rotor you can always do a compression test. That's always the sure fire way to see whats going on. If you're getting good compression, then make sure you didn't swap the leading and trailing plug wires when you put new plugs in.

Could be a fouled plug. Try driving it around to clear it up or pull and clean all the plugs.

It could have been a wiring issue. Everyone jumps straight to the compression check. Start with the basics.

Testing the injectors to see if they are indeed spraying is a good bet. Get it running playing with the throttle and unplug the injectors individually. If you unplug one and the motor does nothing, bingo.

He stated he had a single turbo car an I assume that he has an aftermarket ECU. Many ECUs have a test feature where it will make the ignition system operate without crank signal... but when you start it nothing kicks over. (if the engine cycles but doesn't start)

Make sure you check both of the rotors for spark (leading coils only used for starting)

obviously he knows that plugs are usually the first culprit and he changed them.

I wrote all this because everyone seems to utilize the same thought process as our dealerships. Hence i never go to them for anything.
