You can clearly see a mechanical water pump in the engine bay. The radiator is there underneath the intercooler. When you look at the front of the car, the radiator almost seems like its parallel to the ground. I made the pictures brighter and you can see the radiator. Its a bit hard to see but you can see the light reflecting off of the bent fins.

I use Photoshop CS2 to do all of my post-editing. With most DSLRs there's the option of shooting in the camera's "RAW" mode which puts out uncompressed image files that can only be opened with photo-editing programs. This lets you adjust parameters like exposure, brightness, color temperature, the contrast curve, and even eliminate things like color fringing.

To get the subject to stand out against the background, I set my lens to its maximum aperture value (f2.8 on my lens) and that helps to set a shallow "depth of field" so that only the subject is in focus. I also play with the shadows and contrast to get the car to "pop" out more in the picture. It's all fun stuff, and I've been doing it as an amateur for about a year now.

65Imp, I'm fairly certain that the driver's side polycarbonate window does in fact go up and down. When I got in the car I noticed that it still had the wiring (clearly visible) and the switch for the driver's side power window. Anyway I've got a bunch of other pictures from that day, so I'll just sorta dump them all here.

I hate posting JPEGs, I wish I could post the full-quality .tif files somehow, but they're 50MB each so it doesn't really matter anyway hahahahaha

Thanks. Hopefully I can get my hands on a DSLR soon. I just got an "advanced point n shoot" Canon Powershot S70 that I havent had much time to mess with. I figured this camera would be good practice for when I do get a DSLR. All the manual settings are a bit overwhelming but I should get the hang pretty quick. Im just waiting on some compact flash cards to come in the mail so I can experiment in RAW mode without filling up the card in 2-3 pictures :P

I've been lurking on the Jtuned forum for a while reading up on the techniques n stuff but some of the stuff (photoshop tricks) is super basic. I may bug you for photo help if I get stuck on something somtime in the near future

Thanks

Oh yea, I was out in Japan in October but didnt get to do any car related stuff. Most of the time I spent out in Nagoya, Sakae and some spots around Tokyo. The weather was a little hotter/humid than I would have liked but it was bearable. The weather must be very nice right now. Too bad the semi arent out this time of year

Is looking at this thread depressing everyone as much as it is me??

Damn I want that car!

The last time I saw that car was at a Max Power show over here in England. It's changed a little bit since I saw it, wing mirrors where carbon and not painted, didnt have the towing eye missing from the front and the kit fit was perfect.

Guess the D1 action is taking it's toll!

a drift car. It's been dinged and banged up quite a bit, so it's not going to sit perfectly

Now that you got all pissy about it:

You're missing a comma. That's why it sounds awkward. "Any chance you have any pics of the rad, gaijin?" would be correct.

Great pics. Thanks for posting them. I'm anti-bling, but I would rock those wheels in a second.

It's all part of the Vertex Ridge kit:

Front Bumper
Front Fenders
Side Skirts
Rear Fenders
Rear Bumper

By far the nicest kit for the FD in my opinion

....and god I want that car!
