OMP Removal

I'm planning on getting rid of the OMP and blocking it off with the block off plate kit from banzai racing.

I've done lots of reading and searching, and I've come to the conclusion that if I'm running on the stock ECU, removing the OMP will get me into limp mode.

My question then, is it possible to,

1. Remove and block off all of the oil feed lines into the pump and just leave the sensor attached to the OMP, and OMP attached to the engine? I know my OMP leaks oil, would this stop it? Should I replace the O-rings?

2. Remove entire assembly, block off the opening with the block off plate kit, block off the oil feed lines, then reattach the OMP to another location in the engine bay, just so it can still give the ECU codes, but isn't actually doing anything.

Which option would be the best way to go about it? I'm pretty certain the OMP itself isn't broken, because I'm not in LIMP mode yet, just a leak either in the feed lines or the O-ring. (Haven't taken it apart to check yet, waiting for feed back.)

Thanks in advance for the help!

I *think* I remember reading somewhere that people have removed the OMP with the stock ECU. They just left it plugged in, in the engine bay.

Here is a thread with some discussion about the subject

Just fix the leak and be done with it. If you're on the stock ecu you're probably not ready to go premix. If you want a little insurance add some premix to the tank.

I agree. With Dale. Just fix the leak. New o rings, crush washers, lines, and nozzles wouldn't be more than $200 from ray @ Malloy. To completely refresh and replace your oil supply system for that much you might as well
