Of course feeling reponsible wants to make amends OTHERWISE HE WOULD HAVE NEVER TOLD YOU. As he could had fixed the car and gone about his day and left you to deal with all the mess.Because frankly prior to this you had nothing, ****, nada, you were **** out of luck.

What is there to laugh about? What justice? he seems like a man with integrity and wants to make things right.

Now you want a whole NEW PAINT job out of this??? If I were your neighbor I'd tell you to **** off...

Both of you should go to a detail shop together and try that first on his dime. If that does not work then you can talk about a paint job.

I don't understand what the big issue is. Go buy a clay bar kit, probably like $20 or 2000Y, and have the neighbor reimburse you. Head over to www.autopia.org, to learn how to properly clay bar your car. If that does not take if off, you need to take it to a detailer who will use a mechanical polisher to remedy the problem.

Asking him to pay for a paintjob is ludicrous and I wouldn't give someone a dime after they tried to fully exploit the situation, especially after he had the intergrity to admit it was his own fault. I wish individuals were that honest here in the US.

Whoa whoa whoa you above have got it twisted. Originally when the incident happened I didnt even bother to call anybody, I dont like getting others involved as long as though who are, will be responsible. In addition when we looked at his car together he himself said, "theres a whole in my fuel tank, my gas needle dropped instantly when I started it." Duh, it was you vehicle. When he said "do you have problems with someone, or maybe it was vandalism cause its not my car." Thats when I had to take further steps and make sure I get some type of documentation on this. It wasnt till after I told him that I contacted legal, filled out a statement and acquired an attourney that he came to me saying he would update me with what the auto shop said about his car he had towed. The man came to my work and said well as you know my wife is pregnant and we only have one income and the shop said it was my car that caused the damage. (If you can read between the lines hes saying I am broke and I was trying to avoid paying/ doing anything for you from the get.) Where the fug is the integrity or responsibility in that? Now there MAY be alternatives in getting the stuff off which I have talked to a couple people round here who said they may be able to do such without painting it and it being as good as before and I am willing to explore them. He was being evasive and shady about the whole thing from the beginning miss me with that bullshi. However like I have said before I do appreciate those of you who've given me input thats valid and valuable.

^ You have to appreciate that those who have commented are basing their opinion on the content of your previous posts and the tone in which they were delivered.
Your previous posts have not cast you in the best light. Your last post read as though you wanted to screw your neighbor for all you can.

Anyhow, having dealt with situations as this previously, I would not be confident a positive resolution has been reached. All you have right now is his word that he wishes to work something out. I wish you luck and hope it ends well for you, just don’t let your guard down until you have something a little more equitable

Well I can definitely understand what you are saying, and in a way I did want to take everything I could possibly get especially cause I knew with no doubt it was on him, and him being a high ranked SGT I thought hed be respectable and responsible. Not to mention back in the states I got screwed over by a neighbor who used to always park by my cars and one day hit my Tiburon, traded paint and left a dent. When I filed a report and asked him about it he claimed that he had no idea what happened yet there was blue scuff on the corner of his truck. And he told the officer I or my wife probably hit him and since no one actually witnessed it there was no way to blame anyone his word 'gainst mine. Just kinda tired of my children getting hurt by others negligence and I'm left paying for it. Thanks for your blessing btw. ( Next place I live hopefully I can get a large garage to fit all of my kids)

Like I mentioned before, take it to a car wash with some bug/tar remover and clean it yourself OR have a detail shop clean it off and send him a bill. Getting a complete paint job out of this is insane.

I know man, however my hands are tide right now. My insurance wants to take a look at the car first before I do anything which is another reason why I haven't tried any of the before mentioned ideas. Hopefully they will look soon cause I'm tired of parking in spots that only show the right side of my car.
