okay, I have a seatbelt question

I noticed in my '93 3rd gen that the driver's and passenger seat belt buckles are different from each other. Does anybody know why that is? They both work, it just seems like another one of the weird Mazda things that bugs me about the car. Anyways, just curious.

Every FD I've ever been in including my own has been like that. Can't explain it, I guess that's just the way they did it.

driver has an airbag and the passanger doesn't, that is why there are different on the 93's. The 94 and 95 are both the same.

I dont see why they would have given it a different buckly because of the air bag. But i did notice that the passenger buckle reminds me of a Ford of any domestic buckle. I swear my dads olds had the same buckle.
