Question oil temp or oil pressure gauge better?

Ok, after having my FD for two whole weeks now, I've got the Fluidyne and metal AST in(with fan mod to come).. now for some gauges. I definitely plan to go with a whole Defi setup but I don't want any pillar mounted gauges, I don't need any more of a reason to get pulled over out here. So with the saab din panel, and one column mounted gauge that gives me 4 spots. Boost, water temp, EGT, and either oil pressure or oil temp. Which one would you guys recommend? I figure oil pressure would be better since:

1. the stock oil pressure gauge SUCKS
2. oil temp and water temp are usually pretty close, it is not a track car so if things are getting hot I figure the water temp gauge will inform me well enough

TIA..

That is a great gauge.. unfortunately I have this thing against digital gauges, analog just looks sooo much better IMO. Plus the last thing I want is to have 1 gauge that is not like the others. Where are the neo-omega gauges available from in case I decide to go that route?

I like to see the actual number. It's kind of personal taste.

The stock oil pressure gauge will work ok if you replace the sending unit. Mine works fine now.

What is the part number for this Saab Din panel? I keep hearing about it but no one posts any detailed info.

I am also looking for an oil temp gauge. Got the Pettit (Autometer) boost gauge on the column and space for the Saab Din panel.

Do a search for the saab din panel, I know I saw a thread a while back that listed the part #.

it's a pain in the butt to look down to see the gauges.
I like this one better. But cost you an arm.

Tough to drive manual with just one arm. Jason has a fiberglass version of it too-only costs a finger.

SAAB Din panel Part# is 0273235.

Those gauges are really nice, I like the digital read outs. I also like the mouse ears gauge pod. I think at the rx7store you can get the carbon fiber for $350 or the fiber glass version for $170. And with those dual guages you could have 4 gauges in only 2 guage pods spots, and then replace the temp gauge in the dash and you have 6 read outs in 3 spots. But at 134 pounds a piece that would come out to about $600 total, ouch but I think it would be worth it. What would be the best gauges to get for the FD anyway, Oil temp, Boost, A/F, Temp, Water temp, EGT, Oil pressure? what do you guys say? I think it would keep the dash from looking so cramped, I dont like all those gauge pods all over the place.

thanks Gun

I'm thinking going with Oil Pressure / Oil Temperature Dual Gauge, Fuel Pressure / Water Temperature Dual Gauge, Turbo Boost / Temperature Dual Gauge. Only three gauages and will do the work as 6 gauges.

Exactly, and the read outs are digital so you know the exact #'s. I think it will look and work really good. Are the pods on the mouse ear holder for 52mm gauges, because it doesn't say on the rx7store website?

the mouse ear one can be 60mm or 52mm. Just tell Jason which size you want.
