My HKS gauge (metric) will get up to 125C max on a hot summer day in traffic. Normal cruising on a hot day and it's around 100-110C.

In the winter, it is lower, sometimes in the low 80s (celsius) but probably averages 95C. This is with 10w-30 Penzoil.

I have an R2 so I have dual oil coolers. The sensor for my oil temp gauge is in the oil pan. Shifting to a higher gear will bring the temp down 5-10 degrees fairly quickly on the flats when just cruising.

A guy I knew with an R1 always seemed to have oil temps about 10 degrees lower than mine...not sure why tho.

Hope this info helps...

It goes from 40-150C. Here's a pic...it's the one on the right.
