Oil pressure wonders and PCV confusion

How ****** weird. Took the car out yesterday for a drive and when we got back to my buddies I noticed a little smoke under the hood, so I popped it and there was oil covering the drivers side near the oil filter and even on top of the intake manifold. I was like WTF!. So we spent 5 hours sorting that out and looking or the source. First We thought maybe the filter was loose... nope. Then we noticed that a small hose attatched to what appears to be an overflow or recycle line attatched to the oil filler neck. But the oil mess was all over the top, on TOP of the intake manifold and this line would have leaked down and wasn't in the right position for the mess anyway. So my buddy went to check the oil level cause there was at least a quart covering my compartment. Well, the ****** dipstick was pushed out. SO... my car had such high oil pressure that the dipstick shot out of its's socket? WTF is that? well when we tried to replace it back in it's socket, it was way loose, so I dried it off and put enough electrical tape around it that it will seal tightly. Then we changed the oil and filter for good measure, and I drove it home. Got home and checked, no new oil mess. Has any one else had the same problem with a loose dipstick or high pressure pushing it out? I just had the car in the shop for a rebuild and street port with new rotor housings, and I am just passed 2200 Miles on the (new) motor. Is this a result of the port?

Also. I been scanning these forums since last night looking for posts with the same problem and posts regarding the filler neck. I have a 94 so I have the PCV valve, but there is so much scattering of info about it, with the 95 and up FD's not even having it and whether its okay to just cap or remove it. I just don't understand why I need it if the later ones don't. If it's not in a 95, why does my car NEED it? If it doesn't what is the best way to cap the nozzles, and/or remove the PCV valve.

So please forgive my ignorance and help if you can.

I'm sorry to bump this but its something that happened to me exactly.
What is the root cause?
I've been reading up on its the PCV valve. Here how i have things set up: Top nipple of the oil filler neck to the PCV to the UIM. Bottom nipple is just vented. My car is a 1993 with a single turbo. I've never had this issue before just until recently. It's happened twice now under hard driving. I'm 100% positive its coming from the dipstick just as the OP said the dipstick is pushed out. I do have a non-vented catch can sitting around. Whats the best way (easiest way) to hook it up, would it be from the top nipple to the intake of the turbo and plug the second nipple on the oil filter neck and the UIM?

Thanks for the help, I'm getting tired of cleaning the driver side of the engine bay over and over :P
Geby.

PS. Could it be the last time I changed my oil that I overfilled it? Its only happened after my oil change, or is my dipstick worn? lol

Here's how it works on pre '95 cars:

So based on the above diagram, if your PCV valve is faulty, then when you enter into positive boost, the pressure could potentially pressurize the oil intake tube, thereby pressurizing the oil pan and possibly forcing air (and oil) to fly out your oil dip stick

so... replace your PCV valve? they're pretty cheap
