There are two versions of 1/8 BSP threads, one tapered and one straight. Obviously not interchangable.

There is already an adapter on the oil pressure sender. The autometer sender will DIRECTLY replace the stock sender with no need for adapters or otherwise. I just hooked one up the other day. Just unscrew the stock sender and install the autometer.

Important: Not using teflon paste or tape WILL result in an oil leak. Don't forget it.

My AUTOMETER adapters 1/4, 1/8 npt (mech Gauge) WOULD NOT screw into the stock adapter OR directly into the block - MAZDA must have used more than one source for the senders & spec'd that the sender be supplied w/ the approiate adapter.

On a AUTO equipped car the Starter motor blocks any access to the sender from under the car.

Bumping this old thread to say I just finish this job. I remove the old oil pressure sensor from the bottom, as it was easiest. The correct socket size is 1 3/16 to get it off.

New Mazda OEM one works like a charm!

Just did this myself after having messed with those oil filter sandwich adapters for a while. I needed to relocate my 1/8 NPT aftermarket sensor to the factory location. I used an "auto meeter adapter #2269" it is 1/8 bspt male end for the engine side and 1/8 NPT female for my sensor. Looks like the extension the factory sender comes with. Also tried my hand at making a kind of "how to" for it https://youtu.be/06CWSaHUD3M
