When fully warmed up, and idled down to 800-750 rpm. What oil pressure do you run? In other words, where at on the stock oil presure gauge does the needle sit. For some reason lately, mine seems to be barley off 0 when fully warmed up and just idling. Sometimes the warning light will come on...what is the deal? I'm going to get it checked out, but thought i'd ask and see what advise i could get first.

BTW: i plan on buying an aftermarket oil pressure gauge now.

the sender units on our gauges often get dirty or fail... try cleaning it.

 

Ok, i'll try that. BTW, where is the sender unit at for the oil pressure?

 

The sending unit is right under the oil filter. It's about 3" in diameter and 3" long with a wire sticking out the top. If you're low on oil there is a sensor in the oil pan that will cause the oil pressure light to turn on.

i just went through this EXACT SAME THING 2 days ago! there is a thread... ill find it

anyway, i had the same damn thing that you are describing. as mgoddard1 said, it is under the oil filter. i pulled the wire off (and then realized that i didnt have right size socket to get the sender unit off) so i plugged it back in. i started up the car and it was back to normal. i need to go to kragen and get a tube of dielectric grease to smear on the electric terminal to make a better connection.

just check the dipstick to make sure that there is the correct amount of oil in there, because that buzzer/light does not come on from low oil pressure, i think it's for low oil level.
