Oil Pressure problem

I have a beautiful 94 Touring (62K original miles -- alll me!) and have had no problems untill the other day when my oil pressure dropped to near 0. Oil is topped up, and engine does not leak, or even use much oil. So besides the guage reading about 0 there is no noticable problem, nothing unusual. What could it be, and is this something I could look at without special tools or driving 3 1/2 hours to Atlanta??

Your oil pressure sender died. You can get a new one for $80 or so (part #N3A1-14-820).

If you really had zero pressure, your engine would not last a minute.

It's most likely the oil pressure sender - they commonly go out. It's not a hard or expensive fix, either.

My writeup on it has pretty much everything you need to know about it -

Thanks to all!
Dale, I've made a copy of your change instructions and will change it when I get the part.
I am again a happy guy!
