....I need to know if this is a serious issue. On startup, my oil pressure jumps up to around 100 psi. Once the engine is warm, it settles to right around 30 psi and when I get in gear, it huddles around 50 or 60 psi.
Now I do have a small oil leak in the car, but it is just oil. The other issue is that I check the oil every time I drive and it always checks out ok, so since my last oil change, about 1200 miles ago, I have not had to add any oil. I have also noticed a couple of times the last two weeks a strong smell of burning oil around my car.
Does it sound like I have a serious problem?? I almost never get on it very often any more, so I would not think I would burn through too much oil, but with the small leak I would figure that I would need to.
Any ideas??

My guess would be you have an oil leak from the oil return or supply lines to/from the turbo's and every so often it hits the turbo, precat(downpipe) or Cat making the smell of burning oil. I have an occasional drop of transmission oil hit my cat and produce a pretty nasty smell. Your consumption doesn't seem out of sorts, if you don't require oil at 2000-2500 then I would start to watch it on a weekly basis and check your trouble codes for metering pump problems. Good luck be with you.
