oil pressure gauge - bouncing needle - hit 0
Anyone know whats going on with my oil pressure gauge? I was driving around the other day and all was normal on the oil pressure front. By normal I mean the pressure was up at ignition and worked its way down to the "normal 30-90" range while driving.
I was driving for about 35 minutes when I went to downshift and with the clutch in the OP gauge hit 0. I immediately stopped the car and applied pressure to the gas pedal to bring the gauge up off 0 until the car had a chance to cool down.
After turning the car off for a little while and coming back to it, the gauge was back to normal. Does anyone have any idea as to what is going on? Is the sensor bad, the gauge bad, or is the oil pump bad? This car has just over 30k on it and is in pristine shape. It doesnt leak any fluids or have any other issues. Any diagnoses/recommended fixes?
