oil pressure gauge

i wanna get an oil pressura gauge from autometer, they only have the 100 psi gauge in elcetrical format. and the racign beats site says that the oil pressure goes up to 110 psi above 3k rpm. autometer also has the mechanical gaue that goes up to 150 psi which woudl eb ideal, but how woudl i install that?

I got the Autometer one - the Capilary tube goes in place of the stock Oil Pressure sender - if you want the stock guage to work also you need to install a "T" on the pressure port. Install the "T" so the 'top' is attach to the port on one side the stock sender attaches to the other side and the new guage capilary tube ataches to the 'bottom' of the "T".

Like this:

Stock sender - "T" - Pressure Port
.........................l
................. New Guage

Yes the tube with oil in it runs all the way to the guage - the guage it self has a spiral tube inside (called a Bourdon Tube) that is hooked to the pointer through a shaft & gears. The Bourdon tube expands & contracts in direct proportion to the amount of pressure inside it causing a shaft attached to its center to rotate - You get INSTANT response from this type of guage. you will be surprised at how the exactly the Oil Press mirrors the Tach. If you are worred about leakage don't - I have had several cars w/ mechanical oil pressure guages and NEVER had one leak. My fd runs 120+psi at 4000rpm when cold and min120psi at 5000 rpm hot using Castrol GTX 10w-30, So I would NOT reccomend a 100psi electrical guage as you will most likley kill the sender in a very short time.
rOtOr-rooter - Thanks for the Thanks
