Oil pressure?

I've got a freshly ported 3mm rebuild with single turbo set up. My question is what oil pressure should I see at the different rpms ranges? If I recall correctly I'm seeing about 85-90psi at about 3500rpms no boost. I'm wondering if oil upgrades were done on the motor? I don't ever remember such high pressure on the stock motor. By the way I'm getting the readings from an aftermarket oil pressure guage. I'm running non synthetic Castrol 20-50 for the break in(2K miles) as recommended by my engine builder Don Marvel over at Marvel Speed. I figure the pressure will drop some after the break in period. I know higher oil pressure is needed for race motors but how much more is the question. Don't get me wrong I have no doubts that my motor was built by one of the best builders. Just curious thats all. Thanks. Tony

I get 60psi at 3krpm cruise on ported block with oil mod to eccentric shaft, 30psi on idle and peg up to 110psi on full boost running 10w-30 (dyno oil). I'm not shure if the owners manual shows the ideal psi or not. I keep forgetting to look. I was told by a mechanic that you should change your oil wieght according to oil pressure.

20w-50 on break in? I used 5w-20 with MMO and Mobil1 filter and i've only moved up to 10w-30 but seeing high pressure I may go lighter.

I'm gonna put in 10-30 next oil change. I'm gonna start adding some premix while running the OMP as well. A little extra protection couldn't hurt. I can't wait till the motor is broken in so I can get the car tuned. Lets just hope the rear end and axles hold up.
