That's pretty bold, to come and say that a company as reputable as PR is ignorant enough to help people damage their housings...

Without proof, it is borderline libel.

that's not my point.

I am a big fan of both companies, but unless banzai has proof of what they are stating... then they are being libelous towards pineapple.

Not Kosher in my book.

Nonesense. Not libel.....not even close. And it's absolutely "Kosher". He's simply pointing out why he believes his product is superior.
As for proof....this is from Pineapple's own description: "While they are actually an american pipe plug, they screw in a couple threads and hold securely, without causing damage to the metric threads (as long as you don't go nuts and wildly overtorque it). We have been using them successfully for many, many years."
Installing a critical part by only a "couple of threads" makes as much sense as Paris Hilton being the key-note at a Mensa convention. Especially when a properly sized metric plug is readily available. And pray tell, how do you NOT cause damage to metric threads in an aluminum housing? Banzai has a point, why not go to the local hardware store and save shipping?
I like some of Pineapple's stuff too, but this is also the same company who produced a how-to video using a metal file to clean carbon from apex seal grooves. They probably claim to have been doing that "successfully for many many years" too, but.......

Fair enough.

I stand corrected. I just feel the delivery could have been a bit more refined.

But, my original point stands ... utterly destroyed.

Next time before you fly off the handle with libel accusations, just read the description of the product supplied. I quoted their website in my post. I also wasn't bashing another shop, I was pointing out that the parts are not correct for the application. Which they aren't.

And for those that think "Its not going to make a difference if it does or not...Blocking it off is exactly that...Blocking it off. Its not like your going to use them again is it...I mean seriously" . You may as well just fill the rotor housings with JB weld and call it a day.

Here is the difference:

Banzai Metric plug.

I am not going to defend my lack of research into this topic.

I withdraw my previous statements. My apologies.

hi ,
is there any tip tpo avoid this? all the guys that remove the omps and plug the hole they keep the pump in another place or they use aftermarket ecu? i am thinking to change the ecu too but i do not know the subject well.

also if i remove the unused solenoids on the ratle nest will the ecu go on limp mode again?

all you guys that block the holes what did you do with the pump?

Install an Apexi Power FC, then you can do whatever you want to the car without it throwing codes or going into limp mode

Go to Apexi website to see where a retailer is in your country or look in any of the e-stores (ebay, etc). Go to the Power FC section of this forum to read up on it.
