Oil Metering Pump problems anyone ?
Trying to eliminate all possibilities with my smoke problem. Def. burning oil, not tons of it but with the smoke you would think I'm burning tons of oil. Still burning about 1/4 of a quart of oil every couple of hundred miles. Anyone experience a bad OMP and what exactly were the symptoms ? Thanks.

UYsually on an FD a bad OMP causes the ECU to go into LIMP MODE & you won't be able to rev past 3500 rpm. also I thinkg at MAX output the FD OMP will only give a 100/1 fuel/oil ratio which is hardly enough to cause smoking (old school rotaries like RX-2/3 ran upwords of 40:1 ratios w/o smoking)
Due to Leaky Turbo oil seals I am curently burning 1qt/300-350 miles w/ out smoking except for a puff when going to WOT
I also read your other thread and it sure sounds like bad/stuck oil seals are your problem.

AS to the "POLISHED" rotor housings They look to be the "Poor Man's Polish" - Glass bead blasted then painted w/ "CHROME" paint - looks like a polish job but only takes about 15min per housing.

Yeah.....the smoke is pretty bad at times. But even with all the smoke, I'm still not seeing a major drop in oil level over a couple of hundred miles. It's gotta be the seals though.
