Oil Metering Pump Electrical connections

Guys,

When repairing the water pump on my poor FD, I misrouted the OMP electrical wires so the belts mangled the wiring as soon as I cranked the engine over. AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!

Are there connectors at either end of the wires, or am I going to have to try a splicing them?

I see one end of the wires at the OMP, where do they terminate at the other end?

If they're replaceable, does anyone have any extras laying about?

thanks

alan

splice away, it is a bitch but definitely possible.

I have heard of this done my many people. I was worried when I put my engine in so I ziptied and otherwise secured it in many places.

I feel your pain.

I remember someone having this happen as a result of a shop. I believe the new harness and new crank angle sensors (also ruined in the process) was over $1000.

The harness leading away from the MOP routes to a connector under the intake elbow.

The OMP harness runs up the front of the engine, under the water pump housing, and plugs into the main harness on a bracket to the right of the alternator, kind of under the intake elbow. I would recommend splicing it too, because I think unplugging the harness from the OMP would require you to remove the OMP, which is not a small task.

i cut my wiring harness off my pump, the one that unplugs on both ends is in tact, the one that is terminated into the stepper motor was cut as close to the motor as possible, so I think you'd probably benefit from this one

$15 for my troubles?

PM me if you're interested

All of the wires from that connector go to the OMP, in two spots. One to a motor, the other to a solenoid(?)

the smaller goes to the stepper motor, this is not a disconnectable one, the larger goes to the pump itself, it's got a harness plug on both ends
