oil leaking.... what should i look for?

i have an oil leaking issue....looks to be coming under the intake manifold... it smoke when i come to a stop for a min or so.. or when i turn it off.... the oil filter area is pretty wet, but i think it's being dripped on from something above... what is a common problem i should look for...?

the car has 53k on it and no rebuild... seems to drive well.... the only thing is when its started up in the morning it revs to 3k immediately,,,(which maybe be normal, i just bought the car so i don't know)

Also, it some time has a putting sound almost like it is cammed... the rmps dont jump around or anything though..... any help is appreciated..

you can stop it from reving to 3k by starting it in gear
that is the AWS it is there to warm up the car quickly

the oil could be coming from the oil metering pump lines or nozzles if its under the uim
if its right above the oil filter I'd check to see if you have a leak between the throttle body and elbow. your turbos may be blowing a little oil and then its coming out between the boost leak
It could also be power steering fluid. there is a small hose that feeds the pump that tends to leak.
