Oil leak problems? Any help?

Hi-
I have a 93 rx7 with 99k on it. It seems to be leaking a good amount of oil. However it doesn't appear to be leaking for the pan/the plug. Any ideas on typical leaks for these cars?

Thanks!
Bob

Do you get any smoke from the engine (i.e. oil leaking inside and burning off when the engine is hot)? Or is it just leaking on the ground?

If it's leaking quite a bit and just to the ground, could be the oil lines to the turbos. That will leave a GOOD size puddle underneath your car.

If it's coming from the front of the motor, then it's the front cover. Mine leaks from here. Pettit tells me that it's a common problem. I also have small leaks from the turbo oil return lines.

There is a possilbity of the oil injectors leaking. Another friend of mines car did that. Found out after the dealer disassemble the entire engine......

I could be a few places as you can tell from these posts. I get a few drops on the floor everyday and my tranny cover among other parts of the underside of my car are soaked in oil. I think it's either my turbos or turbo oil lines leaking and getting blown all over the place while driving. Then there's a leak in top of the engine, behind the IM and to the right of the oil filter.

Its exactly like Pistol pete said. When the car runs you can see it drip (about a drop evey 10 seconds) to the ground below where the oil filter is, but can't exactly where it is coming from. The undercarriage is soaked in oil......

Common leak points are also the o-rings for the oil-filter mount, the oil metering pump, and the rear main seal. sounds like your oil-filter mount is leaking.
