about oil leak

Its been awhile since I've had the stock turbos, but it sounds like they are leaking from the oil return lines going back into the lower block from the turbos. There are 2 return locations , the front of the engine and the rear of the engine, right above the oil pan. This is bolted to the block with 2 nuts each. The gasket probally needs to be replaced. Not easy to get to though, probally easier going under the car. I can't imagine the leak is from the oil FEEDS because they are compression fittings. It also could be the metering pump gasket. I am not an expert, but have been working on FD rx7s for years and just trying to help a fellow rx7 fan. Hope this will help.

I am presently swapping my turbos (had a set recently rebuilt). To get access to the return lines, it will help if you remove the pre-cat section of your exhaust. Be sure to spray up the exhaust bolts with WD40 or Liquid Wrench type solvent. The last thing you want to do while fixing an oil leak is break-off an exhaust bolt. Once that is out of the way, you can get to the return line nuts/bolts by a combination of a 10mm box end wrench and/or a 1/4" rachet with an extension (I think I used an 8") and 10 mm socket. If the leak is up on the turbo housing end of the return lines, you will need to remove the heat shield. The heat shield can be removed from the bottom. There are two bolts and one nut to get it free. It then needs to be folded slightly to get it out through the triangle space in the engine carriage. Don't worry! It won't hurt it if you go easy. I believe all of those bolts will then be accessible with the 1/4'' rachet and extension, but it will definitely be the tougher part of the job. Good luck.
