If you're referring to the pressure dropping to almost nothing at times, it's likely a problem with the sending unit, and not the gauge. I've talked to a number of ppl and they've told me that the sending unit on our cars just has a tendency to take a dump. It's a PITA to fix, and usually ends up broken again at some point.

I've heard you can remove the unit and clean it and that sometimes fixes the problem, but usually the fix is temporary. I dunno...anyone else have experience with this?

I do not believe it is the gauge since somtimes it works. It seems more like a bag connection. When I first start the car its fine but after it warms up then it seems to just quit working and I know there is oil pressure in the motor.

Remove the sender and clean it. The sender is a small plug about 6-8" below oil filter. It is on the driver's side of the oil filter mount. If that doesn't work, then the sender is bad, which is a common problem.

degrease the sender and then try soldering the wire directly to the sender..wrap with Hi-temp electrical tape..works like a charm

good luck!
