Question Oil Filler Neck

Hi everyone,

I've been trying to get the RE-Speed Oil Filler but they have been extremely unresponsive. Long story short, I'm still in need of an oil filler neck. Does anyone know who makes them or have the dimensions to the flange/pipe I'll need to get one fabricated?

Thanks,
Josh

Don't bother with RE Speed. I actually got a response via email, paid, and never recieved anything or any contact ever again. Had to make a Paypal claim to get a refund. **** that guy.

I ultimately had one fabricated by a shop (PFS) who had my car. If you can locate a metal opening (threaded) that fits the cap thread, the rest can be fabbed pretty easily. Pretty sure Ray made mine from a (metal) 20B filler neck.

I'd talked to Chip at Chips Motorsports about making one, and he said he could. But Ray already had my car and that was simpler. Hit Chip up.

Seems like you could order a stock one from any Mazda dealer. They are available. I think around $120.

Agreed.

Any decent fab shop should be able to duplicate the stock filler. Just pop yours off and take it to them.

If you need a stock one, I have one I can sell ya. PM me.

I was looking at mine today. I may need to replace it (if my superglue doesnt hold ) I cant even see (or feel) the bolt on the passenger side. What has to come off to get to that bolt? The whole throttle body?

Thanks

On page 5 this guy gives a website that he started selling his baffled oil fill neck from. You can try to reach out to him and see if he's still making/selling them.

I have one of his units and it works well and reduced the amount of oil I'm getting in my catch can at the track (although still getting some). The biggest downside is that you need to fill the car with oil SLOWLY as that baffle works both ways.

That was 2 years ago.. I doubt it.

I emailed re-speed, they set me up an account, I paid, a month later I didn't have anything and I tried getting a hold of them with no luck. Filed a paypal claim and got my money back.

What you need are 2 1.5" ID aluminum 90 degree bends, a weld-on oil cap (google it, there are several companies making these), an aluminum flange (I found the tial 2 bolt wastegate flanges work almost perfectly but I can't find one in aluminum (only SS) so I'll have to get a shop to cut out an aluminum flange, and a weld on aluminum bung for catch can or what ever.

I'm just waiting for my parts to get here then will have to have it welded up.
If you feel like waiting a week or two, I can send you pictures of the finished product, and if you like it I could try to replicate one for you. But cost would be around 200- 250 dollars cause I obviously don't buy supplies in bulk and labor in Canada is expensive as hell.

I'm looking to do a Daiman's Oil Catch Can Mod which requires a modified filler neck.

That might be a great option. My shop can do all the welding but they don't have a machine shop for the flange (filler to engine) so we'd have to source it out. Are you going to use a gasket or an o-ring/groove to keep it from seeping?

I am ordering parts to make some of these. If they are what people want, then I can open a group buy or something.
