Oil Filler Cap

Well I was out tinkering under the hood today and was checking my oil. I looked up and noticed that my oil filler cap was missing. I must have forgotten to put it back on during the last oil change, laid it under the hood somewhere, and it fell out while driving. Luckily I havent driven the car much since the last oil change. Anyhow, my question is, are the threads universal for most vehicles on these caps. Reason I ask is the local parts store has a few filler caps, those ricer aluminum ones, just curious if they would work for now?

I believe that the aftermarket ones will work. Any chance you can get to a junk yard and pull one from a mazda? I imagine that any cap from a mazda would work (626,929, miata, etc).

I used a cap from a '89 Mazda 323 (fits perfectly) for about a year before loosing my mind and buying a Mazdaspeed cap.

I had my oil filler cap come OFF during driving, I must not have tightened it really good or something....anyway, get this: It lodged under my throttle actuator, and the engine wanted to run about 4500 rpm! Freaked me out, for sure.

I'm thinking about getting one of these and having it stripped and re-anodized gold to match my other underhood accents.
