Oil filled stock cat??
Anyone know if oil/coolant running through the stock cat will clog it? I'm planning on going back to the stock cat and the one I have here is from a guy who tells me his turbos where fried/coolant seals shot when his car was stolen and the cat went along for the ride. If I stand the cat end to end, oil/coolant does drip out, so it's pretty bad. Think hot rotary back pressure is enough to clear that thing out?

um... could that possibly be a fire hazzard then? if its that soaked and you start shooting some crazy hot gasses through it (like rotarys love to do)... i'm not sure how motor oil burns, ya know?
why are you going to go back to a stock cat?
every-now-and-again you can find them in the for sale section for next to nothing, without the oil saturation issue. my suggestion would be to look there if you are really hell-bent on a stock cat... but why not a nice new 3" stainless high-flow?

I'm running a 3" highflow right now with DP and a mysterious 2.75" catback. I'm planning on getting a RB dual but I dont want to run 3" all the way with the stock ecu. Spare stock cats dont come around often in Canada and shipping one from the US to here would be murder.

hmm... ok, well that makes sense. I still stand by my warning of a possible fire hazzard, but again, i'm not sure about how/if oil burns and if it could cause damage doing so.
i'm not positive on this, but if you had a boost controller that could keep your boost at or under 10psi, wouldn't the stock ECU be fine? just a thought to research, unless i'm a complete dumbass
otherwise, just consider this another free bump.
