oil in the exhaust

i just got done doing a motor r&r and started it up. the car was on for about 10 seconds when it started blowing a grip load of smoke out the exhaust. i check under the car and saw oil coming out of the mid pipe. and also coming out of the edges of the exhaust manifold and turbo actuators. could someone please help me out and tell me whats going on?

Uh oh. did you rebuild the motor yourself? Are you sure you installed the oil control ring springs in the correct orientation, and indexed the tabs on the springs properly with the metal oil control rings?

Could anyone have injected ATF into the motor to help build compression? Might be massive amounts of ATF being pushed out of the motor.

Check your oil level in the motor and see how much oil you have left. I can't believe you can put enough ATF into the motor to fill the exhaust without hydrolock'ing the engine.
So I'm going with Rich's first post, and guessing that the oil control rings aren't correct. Other idea is a massive turbo failure and the oil supply to the turbo is dumping into the exhaust.

Good luck!

Have you tried letting the car idle for longer? How much runtime is on the install? I take it this was your first time?
