VA oil coolers

I was talking to a guy who runs his FD without oil coolers.... he ran a steel braided line from the side port to the front basically rerouting the oil flow directly back into the motor. Told me he that he does it to make pulling the motor easier. I can imagine that this would be fine for "1/4 mile Race Only" applications but i cant see it working out well for any another situations.
Anyone running this setup?

Does NOT make pulling the motor easier and should NOT be done. Oil coolers are there for a purpose - to keep your motor from melting down.

Since the FD uses oil to greatly reduce engine temps I hope he is only using it for 1/4 drag... I cannot imagine anyone else (really even this guy) doing this. It does not really make it any more difficult for pulling the engine.

The scary thing about it is that i was at the shop ordering the fittings to switch out my lines to braided and this guy was telling me to do this.... and he handed me a business card, he runs a local shop and specializes in rotary rebuilding.

It sounds like that is one shop I would mark off my list... And sway others away from...
