Oil coolers

What would you guys recommend to use to straighten up the oil cooler fins (combing the fins)? I have an R1 and need to di this on both oil coolers.... Thanks

i bumped into the perfect tool. i have a pic set and one of the pics is a flat oval shaped pic.

2 observations re cooler fins...

if you have driven your fd they are flattened. (road stuff)

they are amazingly easy to fix on a DIY basis... like new.

once you have fixed the bent fins you will want to put a SS screen w 1/4 inch openings in front of the cooler.

I've used a similar pick as what Howard describes. A little tedious, but effective. For $5.00 I might try that HF tool next time I'm at the store.

Fellas, I am in the process of getting a body kit for my FD. Any recommendations on what I can use to cover up the holes in front of my oil coolers and the middle? Is there any material that is readily available that I can use to cover up the inside....

Would the 1/4" SS mesh work for the center as well? Will weight be an issue????
