Oil cooler replacement question

My FD is getting new oil coolers this week.

I had planned on draining the oil to do this, but it occurred to me that this may not be necessary.

The lowest hose is on the front cover, and I don't believe oil will reach that level.

So it should not be necessary to drain the oil to pull out out the stock oil cooler setup.

Correct?

Or not?

Yep. You'll make a mess with what remains inside the lines regardless, but the pan's contents won't somehow empty. Especially if you have the front end jacked up slightly.

Thank, it didn't appear necessary.

Save some oil too, as there is only 50 miles on the new engine so far.

you could change the oil to make sure there are no contaminents from the rebuild. Remember- oil is cheap.

Thanks, but that was done before I got the car back.
